Evoco Selected for Fashion for Good's "The Next Stride" Initiative to Help Replace Fossil-Based Footwear Soles
Global brands adidas, Target, and Zalando to validate Evoco’s FATES™ Bio-Foam as a scalable alternative for footwear midsoles and insoles.
[Toronto – Sept, 18, 2025] – Evoco Ltd., a global materials innovation company, today announced its participation in The Next Stride: Bio-Based Materials for Footwear Soles, a new initiative launched by Fashion for Good. The project brings together leading brands and material innovators to accelerate the shift from fossil-based polymers to sustainable, high-performance alternatives in footwear soles.
As part of the initiative, Evoco’s patented FATES™ Bio-Foam will undergo testing and validation with adidas, Target, and Zalando. Designed to reduce reliance on fossil-derived materials, FATES™ Bio-Foam has already been scaled into commercial production and integrated into millions of insoles and midsoles for global footwear brands.

The project, coordinated by Fashion for Good, will include comprehensive performance testing and environmental assessments conducted in partnership with SATRA. Findings will be benchmarked against conventional fossil-based materials to guide larger-scale adoption and support systemic change across the footwear industry.
Evoco joins a coalition of material innovators — including Algenesis Labs, Balena, KUORI, and Yulex — in this initiative, alongside global brand partners adidas, Target, and Zalando.
